GRADE GURUS FRENCH IMMERSION LANGUAGE PROGRAM

Grade Gurus offers its French Immersion Language program under the authority of L'École de français du Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup. Graduates of our program will receive their B2 certification through the Ministry of Education, a government branch of the province of Quebec, as would any student competing French language instruction at a public provider such as Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup. 

The French Immersion B2 Program is 720 hours. Students who opt into the Immersion program can benefit from workshops and cultural activities designed to engage them into using their French skills outside of the classroom. French immersion is the best options for those coming from non French or English speaking countries to full develop their French language skills and integrate into Quebec society.

 

Prerequisites: A1 level French

Students who wish to join the french immersion program must attain a A1 level french as a requirement for admission to the program.


All exams, classroom instruction and seminars will be delivered at our beautiful downtown campus, in the heart of the Montreal within walking distance of both Concordia and McGill Universities.

Our teachers and staff welcome students from all over the world into a French milieu.  Students comfortably ease into our French classes and become immersed in the language and culture, while studying in the second largest French speaking city in the world, Montreal. 
 

Our students learn to communicate and build a repertoire of skills through academic classes, workshops and activities aimed at real life experiences.  Our students become prepared to pass their B2 level exam at the end of the program.

Assessment 

Students will be assessed and placed according to their French level proficiency. 

Classroom

In class, students will benefit from small class sizes with curriculum designed for the international  student.

Certification

On location and in class, students will be given exams in accordance with the Ministry of education of Quebec to certify their B2 level of French.

Review & Prep

After program completion, students can opt into a 2 day intensive seminar with a focus on the oral skills needed to successfully engage in job and government related interviews.

Upper Internmediate

Understands the main ideas of concrete or abstract topics in a complex text (including technical articles).  Communicates with fluency during a conversation with a native speaker, speaking clearly and with detail on a number of subjects.  Gives opinion with explanation.

B2

Elementary

Understands common expressions that relate to self like family, shopping, environment.  Uses basic and direct information and communicate with simple words.


 

A2

Advanced

Understands a wide range of texts and understands nuances.  Expresses self fluently without searching for words.  Uses language in a number of contexts including professional, social or academic.  Communicates clearly and can support a well-structured argument.

C1

Intermediate

Understands the main points of clear speech on subjects such as work, school, activities.  Manages in situations when traveling to countries using the language.  Produces simple texts and describes goals, desires and explanations.
 

B1

Master or Proficient

Understands easily almost all that is read or heard. Can express self fluently and spontaneously with precise meaning.
